Body Builders
Adult Sunday School Ministry – Sundays 9:15-10:15
We call our Adult Sunday School “Body Builders”, because we see these classes as important for the building up of the Body of Christ. We divide the year into three terms. Each Winter and Fall we have a selection of three to four classes. Typically we offer one class that has more of an expositional focus (Sermon on the Mount, Gospel of John), the second class tend to more of a theological theme (Doctrine of God, Christian Worldview) and the third class is usually focused on specific aspects of Christian living (Evangelism, Spiritual Change, Parenting). In the Summer all the adults meet together to study a particular subject together. We encourage everyone to participate in these classes as we see them as a significant part of the overall spiritual growth of CBC.

Life Patterns for Believers
How can you grow to love God more? How can you strengthen your faith in Christ? God has given us clear guidance so that we might experience spiritual growth. Our relationship with Christ grows through everyday patterns of life. The Spirit of God works in our hearts and minds as we spend time: reading and meditating God’s word, praying, worshipping, participating in the life of the church. This class will consider the reasons for and the ways to develop these patterns in your life that you will delight more in Christ.

God’s Plan for the Ages
There is an increasing acceptance and adoption of a pagan worldview in our country and world. This causes us to ask where society and world is headed. God has a plan! In a day when things seem to be falling apart, we can be assured that God is bringing everything together. He is the Beginning and the End of all things including human history. Because God is sovereign the outcome of history is certain. That outcome has been revealed to us in advance and His plan is unfolded in the Bible. He is going to sum up all things under the lordship of Jesus Christ, to the praise of His glory!

This class will explore God’s work throughout history, what He is doing now, and what He has planned for the future. Students will be equipped to look at the world through the lenses of God’s plan as revealed in the Scripture. Students will be challenged to submit to the Lordship of Christ and to spend their lives furthering His kingdom purposes.

Does Jesus Love You?
Every child who grows up in church learns to sing “Jesus loves me…for the Bible tells me so.” As adults, we still talk about the love of Jesus—after all, that’s what the Bible teaches. But for many Christians, that love feels like an abstract concept rather than personal affection. Yet Jesus came as a human to show humans what the love of God looks like and what it means to live in close fellowship with Him. Chapters 15-17 of John’s gospel contain some of the clearest expressions of those truths. This class is built around a video series by Sinclair Ferguson entitled “Lessons from the Upper Room.” Join us as we look at the heart that our Savior has for each of His people.

Parenting With Faith and Wisdom
This class will be of benefit whether you have young children, older children or work with children. Be equipped and encouraged to faithfully shepherd children from toddler to teenager and beyond. We will develop a framework for thinking about the parenting process as we look to Scripture for help and encouragement. Even if your children are all grown up consider taking this class to be better equipped to encourage other parents.
